GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL RULES

High School girls may play in no more than 18 league games or two Tournaments during the Winter season. League games include high school games or other league games. Head Coaches of High School teams may establish a more restrictive standard on their players, (such as not allowing their players to play in club/league games/tournaments at all during the season at their discretion) but the above game/tournament limits are cited directly from the NIAA Handbook. NAC Code section 386.731 ODP games are not counted towards the maximum number of games or tournaments. Sunrise/Sunset regional games and 4A Championship also do not count towards the maximum number of games/tournaments.

The High School girls key dates are as follows:

1. November 13, 2010 - First Day of Practice for Winter Sports (This is the day most of the High Schools started their Try-outs)

2. November 26, 2010 - First Possible Day for Winter Sports Contests. (This is the Day after Thanksgiving and no High School games are schedule, however the Turkey Shoot is run on this day and this counts towards one of the two allowed tournaments)

3. February 22, 24 and March 1, 2011 NIAA Sunrise and Sunset Regional Games.

4. March 3, 2011 4A Southern Nevada State Girls Soccer Championship

All games/tournaments played from November 26th through March 3rd count towards the maximum number of games. Currently there are 16 High School games which are schedule to be played by each high school team.
